Robert Griffin III getting closer to return with more work in practice

Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III has not played in a game since Week Two against the Jacksonville Jaguars where he suffered a dislocated ankle.

Griffin III could be back sooner than later but probably will not play this Monday night against NFC East division rival, the Dallas Cowboys. According to Tarik El-Bashir of CSNWashington.com, today in practice, Griffin III got a heavier workload and looked as if he was wearing a hinged brace on his ankle.

Today in practice, Griffin III did all the individual drills, took snaps under center and in shotgun, and was able to drop back in the pocket to make throws. But the key to what makes Griffin III “RG3” is his mobility which is not up to full speed.

It looks as if quarterback Colt McCoy, who led Washington to a comeback victory over the Tennessee Titans last Sunday will start. But do not count out Griffin III possibly starting on Monday night as noted by head coach Jay Gruden.

We will see what happens because if this game was Sunday then I’m pretty sure Griffin III would not be playing but since the game is a day later, his chances might have just increased.
