For their week nine matchup against the Houston Texans, the Philadelphia Eagles will be on the road once again. But they could be getting back a key player that helps them on both special teams and offense.
Today, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Eagles running back Darren Sproles told him that he’ll be ready to play Sunday against the Houston Texans.

For the Eagles and their fans, this is a huge sigh of relief as without Sproles in last Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, the offense looked different.
The Eagles offense still put up a ton of yards in the game, 521 to be exact but Sproles causes matchup problems for the defense. So far this season, Sproles has 211 rushing yards on 32 carries and three touchdowns. In terms of the receiving game, he has 16 catches for 198 yards.
Finally, do not discredit what he does in the punt return game as well. As a punt returner, Sproles has an 82 yard return for a touchdown which came against the San Francisco 49ers.
Sproles missed this past Sunday’s game against the Cardinals as he is working himself back from a MCL sprain that he suffered in the Eagles’ October 12 game against the New York Giants.
