On Sunday, the Tables, Ladders, Chairs….and Stairs (TLC) Pay-Per-View will take over the WWE Universe. The matches are set and they have even added in steel stairs to the metal mix of weapons that will be used to create an epic WWE event.
The kickoff match will be between the teams of Goldust and Stardust, and The New Day. The New Day is a new trio that is made up of Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods. Unfortunately, their positive vibes have upset Gold and Stardust. The New Day eliminated by them during the Tag Team Turmoil match a few weeks ago. Ever since then, Gold and Stardust are looking for revenge.
The WWE Tag-Team Championships are up for the taking. The Miz and his stunt double Damien Mizdow are the current championship holders and are going up against The Usos, who look to take back the championship that they once held not too long ago. The Usos beat Adam Rose and The Bunny and Cesaro and Tyson Kid in the final rounds of the tag-team turmoil match a couple weeks ago to earn the title shot.
Seeing Mizdow hold onto his fake championship belts while The Miz holds the real ones is extremely entertaining. Mizdow is an amazing superstar to have in a title match. The audience loves him and it is always sure to be a good and funny match when he is involved.
Dolph Ziggler and Luke Harper will also compete in a ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship.
A couple weeks ago on Smackdown, Harper was disqualified in a match and went for the ladder underneath the ring, attempting a dirty hit on his opponent. Instead, Ziggler came out and turned the assault around on Harper.
As a result, guest Smackdown general manager Santino Marella made the ladder match official for TLC.
It will be interesting to see who prevails in this type of match because Ziggler is use to matches like this. He is familiar with ladder matches and has competed in them before, while Harper has not. However, Harper is considered crazy for a reason, and should not be overlooked in this type of situation. Anyone could come out as a winner.
Once again we get to see Rusev vs. Jack Swagger. After Rusev attacked Swagger’s partner Zeb Colter backstage, he brought up old animosity that never went away. Swagger is now looking to regain the United States Championship and be the first one to defeat The Super Athlete.
We have not seen the two superstars fight since Summerslam, where Rusev defeated Swagger in a flag match. But now that Swagger has motivation and more of a will to win, hopefully he will be the one to finally take down Rusev.
Hopefully Rusev’s winning streak will end on Sunday because seeing him hold onto the United States Championship any longer just makes my stomach turn.
The Diva’s Championship is also on the line in a match with Nikki Bella and AJ Lee. Nikki originally won the championship because she had her sister distract AJ by kissing her during their match. The distraction gave Nikki the opportunity to deliver the Rack Attack, and pin AJ in just seconds of the match beginning.
We will have to see if Nikki can win this fight fairly, or if she has another distraction up her sleeve that will allow her to keep her championship.
We can now thank Eric Rowan and The Big Show for the addition of steel stairs to TLC.
After The Big Show betrayed Team Cena at Survivor Series, Rowan has been coming after him and trying to teach him a lesson. What better way than with steel stairs. These two giants will be sure to have a huge showdown for the WWE universe.
Since we have recently seen Kane come out to the ring and beat Ryback with a chair, it would only make sense to have the two compete in a chairs match.
This rivalry started when Kane was given his new job as Concessions Kane on Raw. The two got in a fight at the stand, which then continued on Smackdown where Kane surprised Ryback by attacking him with a chair. This gave Daniel Bryan the opportunity to announce a chairs match for the two superstars at TLC.
These are two of the strongest superstars and when you add steel chairs to the mix, there is sure to be destruction and pain. It will only be a matter of time before one of them is left standing.
Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt will be competing in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match.
At Survivor Series, the two beat each other to the point where Ambrose brought out a steel chair and was disqualified leaving Wyatt as the winner. Ever since then, we have seen Wyatt and Ambrose exchange attacks on one another that are so brutal it’s hard to look away. They have brought the violence back to wrestling that WWE use to have. Bits and pieces of it are shown when these two men are put in an arena together and it’s electrifying to watch.
I think they have chosen the two best superstars to compete in this match. No one else is as deranged and outrageous as these two men. This is a must see match and I can not wait to see what Lunatic Fringe and The Man of 1,000 Truths have in store for us.
One of the matches that I am looking forward to is John Cena vs Seth Rollins in a Tables Match. Cena should be preparing himself to take on the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar. But instead, he has to face Rollins in a tables match to defend his number-one-contender status.
With this shocking turn of events, Cena has a lot to think about before this fight. He needs to prepare to take on Mr. Money in the Bank, who is trying to prove he is one of the strongest superstars in the WWE even without the help of The Authority, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.
If Rollins wins this match, it could lead to a lot of different possibilities as to who the new number one contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship could be. It also means that Rollins has the ability to cash in his Money in the Bank contract for that championship match whenever and wherever he wants.
These matches are sure to be violent and ones you won’t forget. Tune in on Sunday night for the Tables, Ladders, Chairs….and Stairs Pay-Per-View.
