Chicago Bears likely to fire Marc Trestman

It is only year two of the Marc Trestman era and it looks like it may come to an end this season. According to a source, Dan Bernstein of WSCR says that the Bears ownership met last night and that Trestman is likely to be fired at the end of the season.

The Trestman era in Chicago has been rocky this season as the Bears are currently 5-9 and last place in the NFC North. Many fans have been calling for quarterback Jay Cutler to be benched and for Trestman and GM Phil Emery to lose their jobs.

Trestman is the likely candidate to go out of the three as this Bears offense has not performed this season with the weapons that they have. Despite, the offense being up and down, the defense has just been as worst as they are giving up 272.2 rushing yards per game which is ranked 31st in the NFL.

A lot of fans and analysts thought that this Bears team would compete this season for the division crown but they cannot get the job done at home or in the division. Chicago is just 2-5 at home and 1-3 in the division.

With Trestman most likely gone, the Bears will have to find a new head coach that can help Jay Cutler limit his mistakes as he has been a turnover machine. The Bears might be also looking for a new general manager but that has not been decided as of yet. There is no doubt in my mind that Trestman will find a job again in the NFL as the coaching carousel is always spinning.
