Jabari Parker to miss rest of the season with torn ACL

There is no good news to report out of Milwaukee as the Bucks have lost rookie forward and second overall pick Jabari Parker to a torn ACL in his left knee as reported by ESPN’s Marc Stein. Parker fell down awkwardly yesterday as he was driving to the basket against the Phoenix Suns.

Parker, the rookie from Duke was playing well for the upstart Bucks, averaging 12.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. Thus far, this year’s rookie class has been plagued with injuries from Joel Embiid before the draft to Julius Randle in the Lakers regular season opener. Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders mentions how this class has not had the best of luck.

The Bucks are currently 13-12 on the season but lose a big piece of their future in Parker for the rest of season. Look for guys such as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton to step up in place of Parker.
