Minnesota Vikings sign Henry Josey

It looks like running back Henry Josey will finally get his chance to dress for a NFL regular season game. According to Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com, the Minnesota Vikings signed Josey off of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ practice squad to their active roster.

Josey has been on the Jaguars practice squad since late August as he was apart of the Eagles final roster cuts. During the preseason with the Eagles, Josey looked like he could supplant Chris Polk as the third running back on the roster or possibly be put on the practice squad. Josey finished the preseason with 225 rushing yards on 34 carries, 39 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Josey has a unique chance in Minnesota as the Vikings released Ben Tate on Tuesday to earn spot on next year’s team. Minnesota’s running back position is influx right now with the future of Adrian Peterson undetermined and Jerick McKinnon injured. It is great to see Josey finally get a chance as he almost got it in Philadelphia, but the Eagles decided to go with Matthew Tucker and Kenjon Barner on the practice squad.
