Eagles haven’t asked LeSean McCoy to take pay-cut

.

As we get closer to free agency and the NFL Draft, the rumor winds are blowing harder and swirling around certain players. One of those players are Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy. Many rumors have swirled around the dynamic back such as the Eagles trading him to try to get Marcus Mariota or just cutting him because of how much he is owed this upcoming season.

McCoy is owed $10.25 million but has a cap number of $11.95 million for the 2015 season. But according to Rand Getlin of Yahoo! Sports, McCoy’s agent Drew Rosenhaus said that the Eagles have not asked him to take a pay-cut or restructure his contract.

Hopefully this is good news regarding McCoy because he is a very integral part to the Eagles offense. He is a top five back in the NFL and you just do not replace a player of his talent just like that.

Could I see the Eagles releasing McCoy just like how they did with DeSean Jackson last April? No because Jackson’s issue wasn’t about money it was something deeper that we still do not know about till this day. We are left to question and ponder why he was sent packing but if McCoy goes then we will know it was about the money.

We will see how this develops as free agency opens on March 10 and the NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 30.
