There is one less free agent cornerback on the market as today, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Houston Texans have re-signed Kareem Jackson to a four-year deal. Jackson was drafted by the Texans in the first round of the 2010 draft.
Over his five-year career with Houston, he has 241 tackles, 50 pass deflections, 10 interceptions and two forced fumbles in 74 games played. This past season, Jackson had his second best season since 2012. He had 48 tackles, nine pass deflections and three interceptions.
With the Texans taking Jackson off the market, the Eagles pickings at the cornerback position get slimmer. Their focus is still on Seattle Seahawks cornerback Byron Maxwell, as they are early favorites to break the bank for him but Jackson would have fit in perfectly with the Eagles 3-4 defense.
About an hour ago, Jackson via Twitter expressed his feelings on being back with Houston.
Wow!!!! I can’t begin to express how happy I am right now!! Definitely a great moment for me and my family right now!!!

Finally, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Jackson’s deal is worth $34 million and will get $20 million guaranteed. The question now is does this set the market value for cornerbacks such as Brandon Flowers, Chris Culliver, Darrelle Revis and Maxwell or will they exceed Jackson’s deal?
