Former Patriot Revis Returns to Jets

GreenKG

Former Patriots cornerback Darrelle Revis has reportedly agreed to sign with his previous team, the New York Jets.

Revis was drafted 14th overall by the Jets back in 2007. The four-time all-pro corner will reunite with his former team after playing his first six years of his career as a New York Jet.

Revis was a key component to the New England Patriots Superbowl victory this year, and locked down various number one wide receivers throughout the year for New England.

New England also elected to not bring back cornerback Brandon Browner, who was also signed by the Patriots last off-season along with Revis to bolster the secondary.

Revis was reportedly asking for a expensive long term contract, and it seems as though at this moment, the Jets were the team that was able to make that happen. Revis most likely views the NYJ franchise as home, as they were the team that drafted him.

How much does this shift the balance of power in the AFC East, let alone the AFC?
