Report: Damion Lee to graduate, transfer from Drexel

.

This is the time of year in college basketball, where many players declare for the NBA Draft or transfer to other schools. The latter half of this statement is true for Drexel’s Damion Lee. According to Evan Daniels of Scout.com, Lee will graduate and then transfer from Drexel.

This is big news regarding Lee as he will be highly sought after because when healthy he is a great player. Lee led the CAA in scoring this season averaging 21.4 points per game before breaking his hand in February. The injury bit him again in the beginning of 2013 season, where he tore his ACL against the Arizona Wildcats in a preseason NIT game.

In 95 games at Drexel, Lee averaged 16.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 32.6 minutes per game. It will be interesting to see who will step up for the Dragons in place of Lee, as he was the number option. Expect Tavon Allen to step up in place of Lee, who averaged 11.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game this season.

Finally, it will be interesting to see where Lee ends up because he is the type of player that can help a program that is right on the cusp of making the NCAA Tournament.
