Today, City 6 Hoops in Philadelphia took another big hit as Villanova announced on Thursday morning that guard Dylan Ennis will be transferring out of the program. Just like Damion Lee, Ennis will be graduating in May and will be eligible to receive a graduate transfer from the NCAA.
Villanova head coach Jay Wright released a statement on Ennis’s transfer:
“Dylan has chosen to play his final season in another program,” he said. “We’re proud that Dylan will graduate in May with a degree in Communications and appreciate all of his efforts throughout his career here.”
In his two seasons at Villanova after transferring from Rice University, he averaged 7.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 22.6 minutes per game. This past season, Ennis was more of an integral part of Nova’s offense and it showed. He averaged 9.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 28.1 minutes per game. Villanova’s NCAA Tournament run ended early in the third round thanks to the eighth seed NC State Wolfpack.
Ennis should be able to help a program, who needs a solid backup point guard or bench help especially in conference play. In two seasons in Big East play, he averaged 6.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
