The Philadelphia Eagles are scouting the wide receiver position heavily when it comes to this month’s NFL Draft. According to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post, Florida State wide receiver Christian Green worked out privately today for Eagles in Tallahassee, Florida.
Green is a 6-foot-2, 204 lbs. wide receiver who was not a focal point of the Florida State offense. The redshirt senior finished his career with 48 receptions for 760 yards and a touchdown. This past season, Green started in the first five games at wide receiver for Seminoles and played special teams. In 2014, he finished with only six receptions for 120 yards and a lone touchdown on his career, which he caught against North Carolina State.
His best season came as a redshirt freshman in 2011, where he had 26 receptions for 450 yards, averaging 17.3 receiving yards per catch. In terms of the NFL Draft, it does not look as promising as the PhillyVoice’s Jimmy Kempski points out at Green will be a UDFA.
If that is the case, then there is no harm with the Eagles working him out. You always need guys that are willing to play special teams on your roster. When the UDFA signing period comes around, be on the lookout for Green possibly joining the Eagles.
