With the CFL season now over, many players are getting workout opportunities from NFL teams. One of those players that is getting an opportunity is the CFL’s leading wide receiver.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Philadelphia Eagles are set to work out Calgary Stampeders wide receiver Eric Rogers on Friday. This is not the first workout for the Rogers as he has already worked out for the New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers and San Diego Chargers.
Top CFL prospect Eric Rogers, a 6-foot-4, 215-lb WR, visited Chargers yesterday and visiting Eagles on Friday, per source. 14 visits in all.

Rogers had a breakout season with the Stampeders as they ultimately made it to the West final, losing 45-31 to the eventual Grey Cup champs, the Edmonton Eskimos.
This season, he had 87 receptions for 1,448 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, which was a vast improvement from 2014. Rogers, the 6-foot-4, 215 lbs. receiver can flat-out catch the ball, as he was the number one target for quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell.
It is not surprising that Rogers is gaining interest from many NFL teams as he had six games of 100 plus receiving yards, including back-to-back games against Saskatchewan and Winnipeg, where he had seven receptions and 100 plus yards.
But, this is not the first time, we saw one of the CFL’s best wide receivers take a chance in the NFL. This past offseason, former Montreal Alouettes wide receiver Duron Carter signed with the Indianapolis Colts. In 2014, Carter dominated the competition with 75 receptions for 1,030 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
With Rogers receiving a lot of interest, he could have the same impact as New Orleans cornerback Delvin Breaux has had this season. Breaux and Rogers have taken similar routes to this point. Breaux spent time in the Arena Football League and played in the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger-cats.
On the other hand, Rogers was an undrafted free agent in 2013 out of Division III California Lutheran trying to stick with the Dallas Cowboys. After his short stint in the NFL, he then played in the Arena Football League with the Portland Thunder.
The Eagles could use a wide receiver like him with his size and skills as they need another playmaker on the outside.
