Report: Lane Johnson facing 10-game suspension

.

Just days before the Philadelphia Eagles’s 2016 preseason debut, the team learned they may lose one of their most dependable players for the most of the 2016 season.

According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, starting right tackle Lane Johnson is facing a 10-game suspension for PED use. This comes just two seasons after Johnson received his first PED-related suspension, sidelining him for the first four games of the 2014 season.

The four-year pro signed a $56 million contract extension this offseason, and was slated to be a mainstay in the Eagles rejuvenated offensive line. Reports state that the guaranteed money from his new deal could be in jeopardy if he is indeed suspended.

The original report states Johnson plans to appeal the decision, and is adamantly denying any use of PEDs. As of this writing, the team nor the league has yet to comment on the matter.
