2007 Total Titans awards

Thanks to all who participated in the 2007 Total Titans awards selection.
And the winners are…
Most Valuable Titan – Offense: LenDale White
White gained 1,110 yards rushing in his first season as the Titans’ go to back. No other individual offensive player contributed nearly as much.
Honorable mention: Rob Bironas, the offensive line
Technically, Bironas is a special teams member but was the main weapon on offense in 2007. wacko jacko suggested that groups, rather than individuals, should be recognized and the o-line is certainly deserving.
Most Valuable Titans – Defense: Albert Haynesworth and Kyle Vanden Bosch
The co-winners were each named to the Pro Bowl for their outstanding play. Moving KVB from the left to the right side this year was a serendipity, as they fed off each other and created great synergy.
Most Valuable Titan – Special teams: Rob Bironas
The All Pro kicker connected on 35 of 39 field goals and set a new NFL record with a perfect 8 for 8 FGs at Houston. His strong leg was also a factor in field position following kickoffs.
Most Valuable Titans rookie: Michael Griffin
Not even close. Griffin was the only rookie to start, had more playing time and contributed more than any other rookie. After starting the season on special teams and in situational packages, he won the starting job at free safety, where he should be the favorite to start again this year.
Most Valuable Titans coaches: Jim Schwartz and Jim Washburn
As defensive coordinator, Schwartz oversaw the improvement from a last place defense to one of the best in the league. Washburn, the d-line coach, deserves a lot of credit for the improved play of Haynesworth, Odom, Brown and LaBoy as individuals and for the group as a whole.
Most Improved Titan: Cortland Finnegan
An unheralded seventh round draft pick in 2006, he functioned as the nickelback in his rookie campaign. After a strong 2007 training camp, Finnegan made a big leap in his play by winning a starting job and performing well.
Comeback Player: Antwan Odom
2007 was the first time in his four-year pro career that Odom was able to start all 16 games. He developed into a fine edge rusher and registered eight sacks, the most of his career.
Most Disappointing Titan: Ben Troupe
The Titans first selection in the 2004 draft had only five receptions last season. Good luck to Ben with his new team, whichever one it will be that is willing to take a chance on him.
