Will the Titans raid the Colts again?

Plucking players from the Indianapolis Colts has become an offseason habit for the Tennessee Titans. Over the course of the last couple of seasons, players such as David Thornton and Nick Harper have been notable ex-Colts who have ended up in Nashville as a result of free agency.
In addition to Thornton and Harper, other former Colts have traded in their blue and white uniforms for the Titans’ two-toned blue in recent years. These players include Gilbert Gardner, Ben Hartsock and Corey Simon, whose tenure with the Titans was a short-lived one to say the least.
As free agency approaches us, let’s take a look at the Colts’ free agents who could be following in the footsteps of Thornton and Harper and leaving Indianapolis for Tennessee.

Jake Scott OG
As a result of Jacob Bell’s impending free agency as well as the possibility of Benji Olson retiring, the Titans may be in the market for another guard.
Jake Scott could be a possibility if the Titans decide to replace Bell or Olson via free agency. At 6’5” and 295 pounds, Scott is a little light for an offensive guard. However, Scott has been a durable performer for the Colts, starting 55 consecutive games during his four years in the NFL.
The Colts’ decision to re-sign fellow starting guard Ryan Lilja to a five year extension could be in an indicator that Scott may not be back in Indy next year. Of the current Colt free agents, Scott probably has the best chance of landing elsewhere next season.
Ben Utecht TE, Bryan Fletcher TE
Both Utecht and Fletcher are restricted free agents. The Colts just placed their franchise tag on fellow tight end Dallas Clark, so there is a chance that Utecht or Fletcher could become expendable.
Ex-Colt/current Titan Ben Hartsock is currently an unrestricted free agent, along with the disappointing Ben Troupe, so tight end may be a position where an extra body or two will be needed. If the Titans decide to eschew a more expensive option at the position such as Alge Crumpler, don’t be shocked to see a lesser name such as Utecht or Fletcher in a Titan uniform next season.
Josh Thomas DE
Two of the Titans’ top three defensive ends are free agents: Antwan Odom and Travis LaBoy. Odom is going to attract a lot of interest around the league and there are some injury concerns regarding LaBoy, so some depth at the defensive end position may be an area of interest for Mike Reinfeldt.
Thomas has only attained six sacks in limited playing time during his brief NFL career. He did end the year on a good note, accumulating thirteen tackles during his final two games of the season, including a six tackle performance against the Titans.
Thomas has a good motor and could be a good depth signing if Odom or LaBoy play elsewhere next season.
There doesn’t appear to be an impact player along the lines of a Nick Harper or David Thornton on the list of Colts’ free agents. However, if recent history is a trend, don’t be surprised to see at least one of the Colts join the forces of their AFC South rival in Tennessee.
