According to media reports, the Titans and the Cowboys have agreed in principle on a trade that will send troubled but talented cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones to Dallas.
The Titans will receive a 4th round draft pick in exchange for the controversial corner.
The deal ends the Pacman Jones saga in Nashville. Despite his brilliance on the field, off the field problems prevented Pacman from realizing his vast potential as a Tennessee Titan.
Now he is off to Dallas to see if he can take advantage of a clean slate, if and when he is re-instated back into the league by Roger Goodell.
The Titans were able to make the postseason without Jones last season and will continue on without his services. The trade allows the franchise to finally move forward and begin a new chapter in the team’s history without the distraction of the public relations nightmare also known as Pacman Jones.
The Titans now have an extra draft choice to play around with this weekend. If Pacman isn’t re-instated by the league this season, the Titans will owe the Cowboys a pick in 2009 but if Pacman suits up, the Titans will receive a draft pick from Dallas in next year’s draft.
