Left tackle: Hopkins or Roos?

The arguments about where to place Bruce Matthews on our Tennessee all-time team were closer than the voting, which placed him at left guard.
We should have some interesting discussion about who the center should be, but for now let’s briefly shift the focus to left tackle.
Brad Hopkins was the regular starter for four years before the team moved to Tennessee and continued in that role through the 2005 season. Hoppy was twice honored with Pro Bowl selections, in 2000 and 2003.
His replacement, Michael Roos, still has his best days ahead of him. The Titans are certainly looking forward to that; they recently gave him a new six-year contract for about $43M after he had very solid seasons at LT in 2006 and 2007.
It will be interesting to have this discussion again five years from now, but I’ve got to say that at this time Hoppy is the man. What are your feelings? Please feel free to vote in the new poll on our Total Titans home page and to leave your comments.
