Looks like Albert Haynesworth won’t be missing any time in training camp afterall.
According to media reports, Haynesworth and the Titans are finally on the same page, culminating in Big Al’s decision to put his John Hancock on the one-year $7.25 million franchise tender.
Securing Al’s services for the 2008 season was of paramount importance to the Titans. Of course, a long-term deal for Haynesworth can’t be consummated until after the season ends but for now, Al will remain a Titan for at least another year.
The reports state that the Titans and Al have agreed to an incentives package that if met, would prevent the Titans from putting the franchise tag on Al in 2009.
This is certainly good news for the Titans as their training camp begins today.
Now that Haynesworth is signed, sealed and delivered for 2008, next up for the Titans is reaching an agreement with first round draft pick Chris Johnson.
