Titans training camp report, 8-13

There hasn’t been much to report on from Titans training camp the last two days (special teams are boring) but I’ve got a little for you today in the following random notes.
It was good to see Jevon Kearse practicing again after sitting out the last two open practices. Jacob Ford was out today.
So was Nick Harper, still being held out after his concussion Saturday night. Eric King, who’s been backing up Cortland Finnegan at RCB, worked with the first team defense at LCB.
Dan Loper got some work at RT with the first team o-line.
William Hayes continued to struggle in d-line drills. At one point, Wash yelled, “Just forget everything I’ve ever told you! You don’t need to be thinking out here!” Or something akin to that.
In 11-on-11 team practice, Vince continued to inconsistent. Not counting dumpoffs to his backs and just counting his passes downfield, he probably was off target as often as he threw catchable balls. One was particularly poor, landing a good six feet in front of his receiver. His best pass was a deep out to Alge Crumpler.
Other plays of note included Jeremy Cain popping Stephen Tulloch, rocking him back on his heels and drawing cheers, hoots and hollers from the offense.
King showed excellent coverage on a bomb intended for Chris Davis (#16). A play or two later, Kerry Collins connected deep down the middle to Edward Williams.
I was surprised to see Quinton Ganther split out wide on several plays.
Practice concluded with two-minute drills, which were actually shortened to 40 or 45 seconds each, and there were several pass deflections. Backup C Jason Murphy caught one at the line of scrimmage and advanced it about ten yards, giving the offense more to cheer about. The defense got the last laugh, however, not allowing a score.
Only three more practices will be open and I’m hoping I’ll be able to attend them all.
