The Titans today made a surprise roster move, releasing QB Chris Simms and adding P Josh Miller. Obviously, the move means that the team is concerned Craig Hentrich’s back that caused him to miss Wednesday’s practice could also prevent him from playing tomorrow. The move also belies my prediction that we wouldn’t see VY at all until the game after the bye against the Chiefs, unless the Titans have some other backup quarterback I don’t know about.
Here’s the full injury report:
TENNESSEE TITANS:
Out: CB Reynaldo Hill (hamstring)
Doubtful: WR Justin Gage (knee)
Questionable: P Craig Hentrich (back)
Probable: RB LenDale White (shoulder), QB Vince Young (knee)
BALTIMORE RAVENS:
Out: DT Kelly Gregg (knee), S Dawan Landry (neck), CB Samari Rolle (neck)
Doubtful: CB Derrick Martin (shoulder)
Questionable: LB Antwan Barnes (shoulder), RB Willis McGahee (chest)
Probable: LB Nick Greisen (thigh), WR Yamon Figurs (hamstring), LB Tavares Gooden (hip)
With the bye week next week, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Titans simply sit Gage-it’s more important that he’s fully healthy for the next 11 games than that he plays against the Ravens. Ditto Hentrich, particularly with the roster move.
