Rod Hood to the rescue? Titans sign veteran CB

In desperate need of depth in a porous secondary that’s already facing life without Nick Harper, Vincent Fuller and possibly (once again) Cortland Finnegan, the Tennessee Titans signed veteran CB Roderick Hood earlier today.

Hood is a seven-year vet who once snagged an impressive 5 interceptions for 196 yards and 2 scores during the 2007 season.

After starting his career in Philadelphia, Hood was a member of the Arizona Cardinals for two seasons (07-08). Since departing Arizona, Hood failed to stick in NFL cities such as Chicago and Cleveland, as those franchises decided to release him prior to the start of 2009.

With Harper, Fuller and Finnegan hurting, it can’t possibly be a bad thing to add a corner with Hood’s experience. This is especially true considering the prospects of depending on the M&M rookie CB’s (Mouton and McCourty) against Tom Brady and the Pats this Sunday.

He’s not going to save the season, but considering the dire injury situation at CB, you’ll get no complaints from me about the Titans’ decision to sign Hood.

What are your thoughts on the Roderick Hood signing?
