The Tennessee Titans (5-4) will be in search of yet another win against an NFC opponent as they play host to the Washington Redskins (4-5) tomorrow at LP Field.
A victory over the Redskins would mark the Titans’ 13th consecutive win over their interconference opposition.
Both teams are looking to wipe the bitter taste of defeat from their mouths on Sunday. The Titans lost an extremely winnable game at Miami last weekend while the entire nation watched a seemingly helpless Redskins’ team get throttled by Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles last Monday night.

A breakout performance for the Titans’ offense?
The Tennessee Titans will have the luxury of facing the NFL’s most generous defense when it comes to giving up yardage on Sunday.
To say that the Redskins have struggled while making the transition from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense is a drastic understatement, as indicated by Jim Haslett’s unit being ranked dead-last in total yards given up (415.3 yards per game). Former Titan Albert Haynesworth has seemingly finally bought in to playing the nose guard position after almost being on the verge of being traded, but even his gargantuan presence hasn’t lifted the sails of a Washington defense that’s struggled to say the least in 2010.
Whether it’s through the air or via the ground, the Titans should have a chance to put together a breakout performance on offense against Washington. I’m expecting a big play or two from newcomer Randy Moss and as for Chris Johnson, don’t be shocked to see him break loose for one of his trademark long-scampers.
Keep the pressure on Donovan McNabb
Despite being rewarded with a contract extension last week, veteran QB Donovan McNabb has experienced his share of struggles this season. Due to a lack of explosive weapons at the skill positions and an offensive line that has him running for his life on a seemingly play-by-play basis, McNabb’s stats are anything but impressive: 75.2 QB rating (worst since his rookie season), 9 TD 11 INT (he’s never had a negative TD-INT ratio for an entire season).
Even though he’s had a down-year, McNabb can still be a very dangerous weapon. He still has the same size/speed combination that makes it difficult for the opposition to take him down and despite his accuracy issues from time to time in the short-to-mid-range passing game, he can still beat you down the field with one of the game’s prettiest deep balls.
To emerge victorious this weekend, the Titans must do a good job of harrasing McNabb and preventing him from making big plays with his legs or through the air with his deep passes.
Prediction Time!
I’m expecting some fireworks from the Titans’ offense as they become the latest team to exploit the Redskins’ swiss cheese defense. Randy Moss will excite the crowd with at least a score and Chris Johnson goes over a 150 yards in a convincing Titans’ win.
