Now that the Locker Shocker has taken place, it’s pretty safe to say that the Titans will turn their attention to defense on Day Two. I’m particularly interested in players with first-round talent who, for one reason or another, fell out of the first round. Some top rated players may still be available when the Titans are on the clock again at #39.
There are three players I’m particularly interested in – DE Da’Quan Bowers, DT Stephen Paea and DT Marvin Austin – but more about them later. First, a look at all the top remaining undrafted players.
Six players from Walter’s Big Board, a consensus of the top 36 players, remain undrafted. We’ll look at them first, after the jump.
8. Da’Quan Bowers, DE, Clemson: 9.7 (Last Week: 8)

Optimum Scouting has reseeded their big board and this is their top 10.
1 . Da’Quan Bowers – DE – Clemson
2 . Leonard Hankerson – WR – Miami (FL)
3 . Jabaal Sheard – DE – Pittsburgh
4 . Justin Houston – OLB – Georgia
5 . Marvin Austin – DT – North Carolina
6 . Ben Ijalana – OT – Villanova
7 . Ryan Williams – RB – Virginia Tech
8 . Jerrel Jernigan – WR – Troy
9 . Kenrick Ellis – DT – Hampton
10 . Brandon Harris – CB – Miami (FL)
Some of those guys are not at a position of need or just aren’t fits for the Titans. Houston and Sheard, for example, are better 3-4 guys. Ayers is a 3-4 guy too but would also be a good 4-3 strong side LB. I’m a little surprised he fell out of the first round.
Wouldn’t it be something if Da’Quan Bowers was the pick at #39? A few months ago, he was projected as the #1 overall pick and was still projected as a top ten pick just a day ago. We have to wonder if his knee didn’t check out in physicals, but someone will take a chance on him.
A few other guys to consider are DTs Stephen Paea and Marvin Austin.
If the knee injuries to Bowers and Paea are no longer a concern, and if the character concerns about Austin are satisfactorily answered, I’d be glad to see any of the three in two-tone blue.
One thing is for sure. There will be plenty of talented players available at #39.
