After the jump, the normal collection of thoughts and observations.
1. You get 46 actives, but with two offensive linemen down the Titans seemed to keep up a couple players they didn't seem comfortable playing much. Jackie Battle was only probable with his neck injury, but his one snap tells me he aggravated his injury then or he really wasn't in quite as good a shape as his probable status indicated. Pity, as the Titans desperately needed a stylistic alternative to Chris Johnson.
2. We saw a good bit of Craig Stevens and, I believe, Taylor Thompson, in the backfield as an alternative to Collin Mooney, thus the latter's single appearance.
3. Hello, adjustment in Kenny Britt's playing time. He did have one catch on one target, giving him the best target and catch rate among Titans receivers. The steady increase in Justin Hunter's snaps stopped this week, though, perhaps a sign he's not yet effective enough at getting off press coverage (or maybe not). Michael Preston's 7 snaps were a season high.
4. The five offensive linemen have still played every snap.
5. Derrick Morgan's another player whose limited playing time was probably at least partly a function of his injury. Lavar Edwards' playing time is kind of bizarre to me; he's been a healthy inactive three times and active twice, yet in those active games he's played a lot, second-most among defensive ends, in both contests. Is this accurately putting him in a different box than Karl Klug and Kamerion Wimbley or unreasonable pigeon-holing?
6. Sammie Lee Hill, maybe not fully healthy or just behind Antonio Johnson in the pecking order? For my mental health, I'm currently leaning toward the former.
7. I'm certainly not going to say there's a direct correlation between the presence of Colin McCarthy on the field for Moise Fokou on the last couple Seahawks drives and their somewhat more consistent success moving the ball, but I will note it's been a long time since McCarthy has looked like the impact player he did at times his rookie season.
8. Coty Sensabaugh v. WR3 watch: Sensabaugh 42, Seattle's third-most used WR Doug Baldwin 41.
9. After at least 20 snaps for George Wilson each of the previous four games, I was starting to think the three safety package was a permanent prominent feature of the defense after a one-game aberration in Pittsburgh. Apparently not, with only 6 snaps this week.
