1. This is something I’ve mentioned before, but the offense having only 60 snaps is right in line with their season average. The Titans had 79 offensive snaps in Week 1 against Kansas City. They averaged 59 the rest of the season, with a high of 69. That’s not sustaining offense. The defense faced an average of 71 snaps per game, including four games over 80 snaps.
2. Not much 2-back, but the running back rotation was pretty similar to what it’s been recently. Not quite as much work for Bishop Sankey as Week 16, but in line with his Week 15 playing time. No, I still don’t get why Leon Washington gets so much playing time, but that’s beating a dead horse at this point. Yes, playing Antonio Andrews more instead of Shonn Greene would have made some sense, given the whole Week 17 bit.
3. The tight end rotation has been pretty much what it’s been for the last six weeks, which is the same thing it should have been for the weeks before that. Again, another dead horse by this point I’ll beat later.
4. Karl Klug’s 3 snaps on offense were a season high.
5. DaQuan Jones finally got the playing time I’d expected him to get when the Titans started keeping him up in Week 15. I’d have to really check where he lined up, but it seemed like Al Woods got Sammie Hill’s playing time at the nose and Jones got the extra playing time at end.
6. This was the first time since Week 12 against Philadelphia the Titans averaged exactly 2.0 OLB snaps per play.
7. Avery Williamson ends the season playing every snap in the final five games.
8. The Colts played a lot of 2-TE sets and some 2-back, so the lack of defensive back snaps is not much of a surprise. Their rotation of wide receivers throws off the opposing WR3 : CB3 thing a bit (T.Y. Hilton 23:Brandon Harris 10).
9. Another Week 17 adjustment-Daimion Stafford finally got the majority of the work rather than playing second fiddle to George Wilson. That and Jones were probably the two biggest “it’s Week 17, let’s see what we have” moves.
