The Charlotte Hornets announced that reserve point-guard Jannero Pargo has been waived, and shooting guard Elliot Williams has been signed by the team to a 10-day contract.
Pargo had been absent from the lineup, with a back injury, and, despite having only one true point guard healthy, the team has managed to fill the void left by Kemba Walker’s injury just fine without Pargo. Lance Stephenson and Gary Neal have shared time at the point, and, although this has been successful, look for Charlotte to acquire another point guard to throw into the rotation in Walker’s continued absence.
Williams has played for the Trail Blazers, 76ers, and, most recently, the Jazz, but has spent a majority of his pro career in the D-league. Williams is averaging 5.3 points, and 1.6 rebounds per game in his NBA career, while playing 14.0 minutes per game.
