Wolves 103, Hornets 94

While would-be Wolves cornerstones Al Jefferson, Rashad McCants and
Ryan Gomes had performances ranging from disappointing to dreadful, the
squad bagged its first road win primarily on the strength of the
inexplicably calm, capable, and confident duo of Marko Jaric and
Sebastian Telfair.

Wolves record: 2-10

The Wolves blew past the New Orleans Hornets in the
first half Monday night, leading by 23 points at one point en route to
a 103-94 victory, a performance that showed their ability to move past
the memory of a 21-point lead they frittered away 48 hours earlier.

You could attribute their newfound resolve to lessons learned, suddenly
discovered maturity or a new tack in which both the team’s point guards
— Marko Jaric and Sebastian Telfair — played together for telling
stretches in the second half. It didn’t hurt, either, that the Wolves
bench outscored both the Hornets’ bench (54-25) and the Wolves’
starters (54-49).

The guard who searched to find his way for his first two seasons in
Minnesota is now starting to discover it as a starter at point guard.
He delivered a 21-point, six-assist performance.
