Wolves 85, Bulls 96

It
was a rough night for the Timberwolves, even though they welcomed back
one of their best players and the Bulls were again missing their stars
— guard Ben Gordon (sprained right wrist) and forward Luol Deng (left
Achilles tendinitis).

Wolves guard Randy Foye made his season debut for the Timberwolves at
the 4:16 mark of the first quarter on Tuesday evening against the
Chicago Bulls.

He finished with 11 points, two assists, one rebound and one steal in 17 minutes of action.
“He was a little rusty,” said head coach Randy Wittman after the game.
“I thought he came in and played under control for the most part. After
being out as long as he has, I’m sure that was a hard thing to hold
back from. It was good to have him back on the floor.”
Wolves record: 8-36

Timberwolves Today postgame (audio) recap
The Wolves were outrebounded and outhustled. A team that had begun to
take care of the ball committed 18 turnovers. The Bulls ripped down 17
offensive rebounds, scored 21 points off those Wolves turnovers and
generally ran away from a score that was tied 55-55 with 4:35 left in
the third quarter.
“For whatever reason we didn’t play the same way we’ve been playing,”
Wolves coach Randy Wittman said. “It looked like we were running in mud
out there, particularly in the first quarter. … I didn’t know what we
were running [offensively]. And we didn’t guard defensively. Each one
of [the Bulls] did what they wanted to do with the ball.”
After missing his first two shots, Foye made four of his final six attempts. He added two assists with one turnover.
“Randy looked good,” Al Jefferson said. “For a guy who missed 40 games, he looked a lot better than I thought he would.”
6 Points Al Jefferson scored from the end of the first quarter until there was 4:05 left in the game.
0 Points from Ryan Gomes, who had averaged nearly 18 points in the Wolves’ previous nine games.
