Garnett on his way to MN

He’s on the Celtics’ flight to Minneapolis this afternoon for tonight’s
game. The big question is whether fans who had been anticipating this
game for months will get even a glimpse of him because he insists on
watching the game from the team’s locker room rather than the bench.

The Wolves, however, aren’t planning on doing anything special to honor
Garnett in his first return to Minneapolis since the trade. Word is
that the only way the Wolves will acknowledge his presence is if he
sits on the bench during Friday’s game. Such is unlikely since Garnett
stays in the lockeroom during games.

If Garnett is on the bench, he is expected to be recognized, perhaps during a timeout, so fans can express their emotions for him. But no matter whether he is on the bench or not, don’t expect any special tribute to Garnett in the form of video highlights or anything else to honor his dozen years as a Wolf.

Kevin McHale, Wolves Vice-President of Basketball Operations:  "I like Kevin. I’d like to see him. Do you think I should go down there and give him a pre-game speech and talk to him?" (McHale chuckles)
