DraftExpress posts the media day interview with Kevin Love from the pre-draft camp in Orlando:
Reporter: Have you scheduled a workout with Minnesota?
Kevin Love: I think it’s on the 16th of June, I’m very excited.
Reporter: Do you think that could possibly sway him (Kevin McHale) when it comes to making a decision?
Kevin Love: Oh I’m crossing my fingers, I hope so. They always say ‘oh you’re not going to like the cold’, well I’m from the rain so I think I’ll be used to it. There’s nothing a good coat and a warm bath can’t get me out to the gym for. Minnesota is a great place.
Reporter: How do you think you complement a true low post scorer like Al Jefferson?
Kevin Love: I think I complement him great. He’s such a beast inside that he’s going to draw double teams; so whether I need to go to the high post or step out to the three, with my shooting percentage this year, I think it could be great. Plus that would be a very young nucleus in there as well.
With Mike Woodson’s contract up, Sund figures to make a run at former Timberwolves head coach Dwane Casey, whom he had in Seattle as an assistant coach. Casey has a place waiting for him in Dallas on Rick Carlisle’s new staff if he doesn’t get a head coaching gig.
From Sid Hartman:
The Lynx are off to a great start, at 4-0 the lone undefeated team in the WNBA. Though several other NBA owners have given up on their WNBA investments, Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor continues to support his, saying: "It’s a league that we’re supporting … and it’s something that I believe in. I think it’s right for Minnesota but it’s not necessarily a big financial success. So, I’m doing it because I think it gives great inspiration to the young women and the fans in Minnesota to see these women play."
