Wolves Updates 7/24 Part 2

Mike Trudell/Timberwolves site talks to Ryan Gomes (audio):
Interestingly, Gomes has yet to sign the contract tender extended by
the Wolves as he and his agent do their due diligence in exploring the
market … Yet he’s is on the Caravan? That’s just how the former
Boston Celtics’ Community star of the year rolls.

"To show you the type of person he is, Ryan is on the Minnesota
Timberwolves Caravan and he’s not even under contract," said Wolves VP
of Basketball Operations Kevin McHale at Wednesday’s Wolves press
conference. "I can tell you, there are very few people that would be
doing that. That’s another reason why we’re very fond of these guys and
think they’re special kids."

Jessica Camerato/Hoopsoworld lists Kevin Love as one of the top 10 draft night steals. Mario Chalmers is also included on the list.
Kevin Love may have been a top five pick, but the Minnesota Timberwolves got a steal when they acquired him from the Memphis Grizzlies on Draft Night. Love knew his conditioning was under fire when he came to Las Vegas, so he dropped the pounds and picked up his game. He was in noticeably better shape and got up and down both ends of the court to impress on offense and defense. Love averaged 18 points and 13.5 rebounds while shooting nearly 50% from the field. After posting 26 points and 15 rebounds against the Portland Trail Blazers, it was clear Love could have gone earlier in the draft and the T’Wolves had played their hand successfully.
