Wolves Updates 8/16

The Wolves will publicly unveil for the first time the team’s newly
designed uniforms for the upcoming 20th season at the IDS Crystal Court
Monday from noon to 1 p.m.

The new home and road uniforms will be unveiled during a program that
will include appearances by the Timberwolves mascot Crunch and members
of the team’s basketball operations.
The Minnesota Timberwolves basketball team will open a new online
storefront – www.shopwolves.com – on Monday, the team announced Friday.
The new online presence is part of the team’s ongoing makeover on and
off the court, and will coincide with the unveiling of the new team
uniforms and a revised team web site, also scheduled for Monday.
The site will launch with limited functionality, geared towards
collecting pre-orders of new Timberwolves jerseys. In October, a more
robust version of the site with a full catalog of merchandise is
scheduled to open for business, the team said in a statement.
The Sports Stuff podcast Timberwolves Explosion discusses the recent Star Tribune article on owner Glen Taylor.

Through the end of June, team owners in the four major pro sports and
their families have given to or raised more than $3.2 million for
presumptive Republican nominee John McCain, but only $615,000 for
Democratic rival Barack Obama…
That database also shows that Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor, a former
Republican state senator in Minnesota, has given $2,300 to McCain, and
Minnesota Wild owner Craig Leipold contributed $2,100 to Mitt Romney.
