MT: What has stood out to you the most this offseason?
Sichting: The main thing that I like is Mike Miller coming in and
showing a lot of leadership in individual workouts. He’s an extremely
hard worker, and I think for our young guys to see him go about his
business … The way he shows up serious and trying to improve and work
on things – that’s one of the biggest things I’ve noticed.

Monday, Gomes turned 26. Tuesday, he signed autographs for a solid throng of fans at A.J. Marky’s Hot Dog Quick Stop on Meriden Road. Thursday he heads back to Minnesota to prepare for the start of his fourth NBA season.

Best New Addition: Mike Miller. A case could be made for Kevin Love depending on how strong of a rookie campaign he has, but because of what Miller will bring on and off the court he has to be viewed as the best pickup right now. On the court Miller’s ability to score the ball will really help open things up for Al Jefferson, but off the court is where he’ll be the most value. Miller has been to the playoffs on five different occasions and while he won’t be able to lead this team to the postseason, his presence should go a long way in teaching them the kind of preparation and mindset needed to do so.
