The Wolves returned home Wednesday from a winless three-game Western trip that included bitter defeats at Portland and Golden State. Before Tuesday’s game, Wittman said the Wolves badly needed a victory, “whether it’s at home, on the road or in Japan.”
Now, they face a formidable schedule that includes games against Portland on Saturday, Denver, Philadelphia, Boston, Detroit and Phoenix.

The 1-6 record would not indicate the type of effort and improvement from the Wolves in 2008. While the team has struggled on the defensive side of the floor, Minnesota ranks fourth in the league in points by scoring 100 points a game. Head coach Randy Wittman continues to tinker with the starting lineup, as the young squad will look to enjoy three of the next four games at the Target Center. The Wolves return home on Saturday to face Portland after a three-game west coast trip.
Anyone else out there notice the uncanny resemblence between Al Jefferson’s low post moves and Kevin McHale’s post moves from NBA past?
Seems pretty obvious that McHale’s work with Jefferson is paying off. Jefferson’s got the drop-steps, head fakes and up-and-unders just like McHale did.
Most important thing about Jefferson is that he still seems to be improving.
