Sebastian Telfair is planning on returning to the lineup of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The point guard missed the past two games because of a sore groin muscle, but he practiced fully Thursday and pronounced himself fit to return to the court Friday in Los Angeles to face the Lakers.

The guy Wolves coach Kevin McHale has described as a “world-class shooter” ranks sixth on the team in field-goal attempts and 10th in terms of shot frequency. That is, on a per-minute basis, Miller’s one hoist every 4.27 minutes he’s on the floor is lower not only than acknowledged scorers Jefferson (1.88) and Foye (2.50) but also Ryan Gomes (2.89), Rodney Carney (2.94), Craig Smith (3.07), Sebastian Telfair (3.17), Love (3.24) and injured Corey Brewer (3.41). Even newcomer Bobby Brown (2.06), an undrafted fringe guy acquired from Sacramento, is out-launching Miller since arriving at the trade deadline.
Worse, Miller isn’t playing like the Upper Midwest product (Mitchell, S.D.) the Wolves coveted during his years in Orlando and Memphis…

This game truly was a monstrosity, but, despite McHale’s tendency to focus his postgame comments on the mistakes and minutiae that led to his team’s loss, there are problems here that no amount of strategic tweaking or improved effort will fix. The simple fact is that the Wolves are simply overmatched against almost every team they play.

Carney will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. Much earlier this year, the Wolves opted not to extend his contract, choosing instead to see how the season plays out. Carney has responded in a positive way.
“It gives you a chance to spend time around the guy, get a chance to know them,” McHale said. “That was a big part of our decision in last year’s draft. So I’m sure next summer we’ll be saying we want to bring Rodney back. It’s one of those things. We’ll have to work a little harder because other teams will be on it. But you hope with these guys that if they have some success and enjoy themselves and are in a situation where they are valued, they’ll come back.”

Love still has a lesson or two to learn about consistency (he backed up his super solid 24-point, 15-rebound game against Utah with just two and three against Portland last week), but is showing up more often than he goes missing these days, witnessed by his 18 points and 14 rebounds against the Warriors on Tuesday.
Some ad clients have taken it on themselves to make recessionary moves as the economy tanks.
For example, the Minnesota Timberwolves this week introduced its 2009-10 NBA season ticket prices, with 95 percent of season ticket prices lowered as part of the campaign, which was announced by team owner Glen Taylor.
