Game previews:
Wolves owner Glen Taylor isn’t telling who he has interviewed to replace McHale as the team’s main personnel decision maker…
McHale said Foye, who did not accompany the team to California, was feeling better Tuesday and McHale said he expects Foye will return yet this season, which concludes a week from today.
“He’s going to play if he can, even if it’s your last game,” McHale said. “This is your job. You play if you can.”
Taylor finally got one thing right. It makes complete sense to have one ultimate front-office person calling the shots. Allow that individual to hire his own assistants and his own coach. Could this just be Taylor’s way of letting McHale go out on his own terms? Might Taylor, considering his friendship with McHale, feel bad about firing him?One remaining fan can only hope.
Pat Keady, the wife of record-setting Boilermaker coach Gene Keady, died Monday night in Indianapolis’ St. Vincent Hospital. Pat Keady, 62, had been in failing health for three years…
Brian Cardinal, who played for Keady from 1996 through 2000 and now plays for the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves, said Pat Keady was the perfect complement to her husband.
“She was just a good person,” Cardinal said. “You had coach Keady as the rough, tough guy who was never afraid to yell at you.
“Then there was Mrs. Keady, who always was there to give you a hug. It was nice how she always asked about my family. I thought the world of her.”
