Wolves Updates 7/2

Canis Hoopus posts a video of a Gillette commercial in which Ricky Rubio appear.
Former Gopher and Timberwolf Quincy Lewis, 32, who has played against Wolves top draft pick Ricky Rubio, 18, in Spain, asked whether the Wolves made the right choice: “As a fan, yes. The kid has a lot of skills. The Timberwolves have a guy who could turn into a superstar and spend 10 years in the NBA before he’s even 28.”
From Main Line Media News: Video: Recent NBA Draftee, Wayne Ellington, chats with Jabari Young
Days after being drafted 28th overall in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves Wayne Ellington returned to the Main Line to share his basketball experience and knowledge speech to  youngters attending the Dewey Burke basketball camp at Conestoga High School.

The former Episcopal Academy and University of North Carolina standout spent about 15 minutes addressing the youngsters, with a question and answer session to follow.

In reply to rumors that the Timberwolves eventually could move to St. Paul and Xcel Energy Center if poor attendance continues at Target Center, the Wolves have 16 years left on their lease with the city. However, the team has only two years on their contract with Target to maintain the Target name on the arena. You wonder if Target Corp. will renew naming rights now that the company has it for the new Twins stadium.

3. Kevin Love, accidental newsman: How did the world learn that Kevin McHale would not return as Minnesota Timberwolves coach? Love accidentally broke the story via his Twitter account, causing some late-night maneuvers for many in the local media. The 20-year-old forward is one of the most active tweeters in sports. Honest, too. During last week’s NBA draft, he tweeted, “You can always tell when [David] Stern is going to call a foreign players [sic] name cause he looks at the card like WTF?????”
