The Minnesota Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation will host a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration on MLK Day this Monday, Jan. 18 at Target Center from 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. prior to the team’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers (2:30 p.m. tipoff). This will be the 10th time in team history that the Wolves have hosted a celebration to honor the great civil rights leader.
Allen Iverson didn’t practice Sunday due to a stomach virus, but traveled with team to Minneapolis and is expected to play Monday afternoon against the Timberwolves.
Wolves assistant coaches J.B. Bickerstaff and Darrick Martin take Brewer through a rigorous shooting drill after every practice, a session that lasts at least 30 minutes. If a practice is particularly tough, the drills can be exhausting. Brewer’s goal is to take a total of 100 shots from various spots on the floor.
“I can feel the work helping me a lot,” Brewer said. “I’ve gotten a lot better since December. Those were tough times for me. I couldn’t make shots. I was passing up shots because I didn’t have the confidence. I’m not passing up shots like I used to.”
