Wolves vs Raptors Loss Notes + Wolves After Steve Nash?

Wolves vs Raptors Loss Notes + Wolves After Steve Nash?

The Wolves fell to the 13-Losses-In-A-Row-Raptors last night in Toronto, which is pretty epic fail.  You can check out the Wolves-Raptors Game Thread for more info/discussion if you so desire.  Granted, we didn't have Puke Ridnour or Ellington, but man… tough loss (again.)  Rather than go on and on about a game I couldn't even watch (wasn't on TV), I am going to do the almost unthinkable and link to SNP's recap post over at CH.  It looks like he aptly sums up our ineptitude well enough.  No point in me retyping everything he's already said.

Here are some special interviews with some Wolves players yesterday as well.  Thanks and props to Hoops Addict for getting them, and then hooking me up with the links:

(Having some technical difficulties at the moment embedding the vidoes, but here are the links)

Here's a clip of my chat with Kevin Love around 5… but with the news that he's playing in All-Star weekend it's already dated:

As you all probably already know, Kevin Love made the All-Star game as the first injury reserve replacement.  Here's an email from the TWolves:

The Wolves are back in the All-Star Game! Earlier tonight the NBA announced that Kevin Love has been named to the All-Star team by NBA Commissioner David Stern to replace Yao Ming, who was voted as a starter by the fans but is out for the remainder of the season with a stress fracture in his left ankle. Love is now the fifth All-Star in Timberwolves history and first since Kevin Garnett in 2007. Love will return to Los Angeles, where he produced a Pac-10 Player of the Year season at UCLA, to represent the Timberwolves and their fans in the league's annual midseason showcase on Sunday, Feb. 20 (7 p.m. on TNT). Click here for more information including Kevin Love's reaction to the announcement.

The league's leader in rebounds (15.6 rpg) and double-doubles (42), Love's season has been nothing short of historic thus far. Love is on pace to become the first player since Moses Malone in 1982-83 to average 20+ points and 15+ rebounds in a season and is also on track to become the first player in NBA history to average 12+ rebounds per game while shooting better than 40% from behind the arc. On Nov. 12, Love made history when he tallied 31 points and 31 rebounds in a come-from-behind win over New York. Love became one of just 19 players in NBA history with a 30/30 game, and the first to accomplish the feat since Moses Malone in 1982.

Lastly, could the TWolves be going after Steve Nash!?!

Click the link for the TWB Forum post with the info!  I assume nothing like this would happen unless Nash welcomes a trade to the Wolves, and would also resign with us after his contract runs out at the end of this season.  If so, then give Phoenix anything but Love, Beasley, or Rubio.  Can you imagine Nash mentoring Rubio for the next two years or so?  There's no other player that would be a more perfect match to mentor Ricky.  I get happy in the pants just thinking about that scenario.  I'm not the biggest Nash fan all things considered (he's old and doesn't play defense), but the Wolves PG woes are well documented, and again, Nash + Rubio = WOWOWOWOW!
