With few exceptions, most people would agree that bacon and beer qualify as such a pairing. Add in access to professional ballparks and stadiums, and it is no surprise that the Bacon and Beer Classic has become a phenomenon nationwide.
The Bacon and Beer Classic has held events at Citi Field in New York, Safeco Field in Seattle, and Victory Field in Indianapolis thus far in 2015, and is taking all of its deliciousness to Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 12. The home of the Minnesota Twins is having two sessions – a brunch session from 1-4 PM followed by an evening session from 7-10 PM. There are worse ways to spend the last few weekends before NBA basketball and the Timberwolves return to action!
There are a few different ticket types for entrance to the Bacon and Beer Classic at Target Field, including general admission and VIP. General admission tickets for the brunch session and evening sessions start at $59, with VIP tickets going for $99. VIP tickets allow purchasers to enter the stadium an hour earlier than general admission, and along with getting a head start on the rest of the crowd, VIP tickets allow exclusive access to the stadium dugouts and warning track.
The Bacon and Beer Classic plans on having over 100 craft brew samples that anyone can sample with the souvenir sample cup they are given upon entrance to Target Field. To create the perfect match, local restaurants and vendors fill the concourse with bacon-infused/bacon-inspired taste samples. With music playing throughout the day and night in the stadium, it’s a great one-time event at a unique location to share with friends and family. Local food vendors such as The Rabbit Hole, Park Tavern, and 240 Sweet join breweries such as North Gate, Schell’s, and Goose Island, which are sure to please the crowd.
The Bacon and Beer Classic has had successful turnouts for each of their previous events and are expanding. Beyond the three remaining events in 2015 that include the Twin Cities, Chicago, and the Bay Area, the Bacon and Beer Classic plans to have upcoming events in San Diego, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Miami and Atlanta in 2016.
There are also ticketing options for designated drivers who can get in at a discounted price.
