When will the Blue Jackets win a game? Tonight? Tomorrow? They can’t lose forever, can they?

Regardless of outcome, how fun is tonight’s game going to be? Hartnell back in Philadelphia is a storyline alone but then the Jackets will get to see Umberger and Mason. These two teams are going to be going at it this evening. MUST SEE TV PEOPLE.

The circus that is this game may be the highlight of the year thus far and the puck hasn’t even dropped yet. Scott Arniel burn? Check. Hartnell potentially fighting Giroux? Check. Fireworks are guaranteed this evening.
Win or lose the entertainment factor is through the roof.
In Game
First and Second Period
I am going to be honest with you all, I took a mid-afternoon nap until about 8:30 essentially missing the first two periods of this game. It’s tough working a third shift job! I was however able to catch two goals from the Jackets the first being Nick Foligno’s
Then James Wisniewski decided to add a powerplay goal.
Third Period
Michael Del Zotto, he of recent internet fame, scored a goal with time expiring on the power play to make the game 4-3. The team held steady on all the shot based metrics and were able to keep the Flyers in check. An entertaining game to be sure but I don’t think a similar effort will yield results against the Sharks this evening.
Post Game
Once again the first two lines dominated the time on ice for the Blue Jackets, while the strategy is working for now they need to get depth back so they can start rolling out more than a couple of lines.
Johansen is/was outstanding and has continued to be the pillar of a lot of Blue Jackets triumphs this year.
Foligno potted a couple of goals as well this evening and is going to be getting himself a nice little paycheck if this pace keeps up.
A lot of people are heaping praise on CMac but in reality he once again didn’t have that great of a game posting a sub 900 sv%. Those kind of numbers aren’t good for an NHL backup, at the very least the Jackets should be getting league average goaltending on a night in and night out basis.
I am unsure if we will have a Gameday Thread this evening with a fair amount of the guys going to the actual game this evening. If you will be down in the arena district make sure to keep an eye out for any number of Buckeye State Hockey writers!
