New York Giants tickets down 21% for Texans game

The New York Giants have struggled through the first two weeks of the 2014 NFL season, but have a chance to redeem themselves with a Week 3 home battle against the Houston Texans. Houston has quickly made it’s name on the defensive end through two games, as they’ve dispatched the Redskins and Raiders with apparent ease. Their elite pass rush has kept their opponents on their heels, while they’ve given up just 20 total points.

Needless to say, Eli Manning and the rest of the Giants will have their work cut out for them. While it looks like a tough test on paper, reality still screams value when it comes to New York Giants tickets on the secondary market. The average price for Giants vs Houston Texans tickets is currently $251 with a get-in price of $68. The average is a remarkable 21% drop from the Giants’ season average of $317.97, making this the least expensive home game of the season.

Losses don’t normally offer true value, but the G-Men stand a chance to hold serve at home this week. They happen to have a solid defense of their own, while their matchup against a Ryan Fitzpatrick-led Texans offense isn’t exactly formidable. To this point, Houston has gotten by with elite defense and a solid rushing attack, but if the Giants can bottle up Arian Foster, they can force Fitzpatrick into mistakes.

Of course, if Big Blue really is going to get their first win of the season in Week 3, Manning and co. will have to make some progress in their new offensive system. Manning actually rebounded from a poor week one performance and wasn’t the problem in their week two loss, so if his wide receivers can get on the same page, New York could challenge Houston’s defense through the air.

The key on offense might be simply avoiding mistakes, however. Victor Cruz had a bout of “the drops” last week, while Rashad Jennings fumbled away New York’s shot at tying up their week two battle with the Cardinals. If New York can stop shooting themselves in the foot and simply execute at home, there’s a decent chance they can exit Week 3 at 1-2.
