I didn’t watch the Blue Jackets game tonight. I doubt I can even stomach the box score. The Jackets gave up a goal in the first nine effing seconds and then managed to get it back with a powerplay goal. They took a period off for what seems like the 20th game in a row and lost 4-2. The L’s are piling up faster than Lori Schmidt questions at a Scott Arniel press conference. I said give them 10 games and the Jackets look like taking the rescue line of optimism and strangling themselves with it.
The good news is that we care. If we didn’t…if we were complacent? When you’re surprised when the Jackets come out with 2 points? That’s when you push the panic button. You’re free to push that personal one whenever you want. Myself? I made my ultimatum and I’m going to stick to it.
