Exactly like in the first fight, Jemel started very fast and backed up Mohamed in the corner of the ring. This time however, Mohamed was ready for it and focused on defense, footwork and counter punches rather than trading in front of his opponent to weather Jemel’s early agression and make the first three rounds a lot closer than the first time.
After three rounds of great action, Mohamed once again capitalized on Jemel slowing down, definitely turning the tide in the fourth by landing his spinning back kick. Jemel’s incredible heart and tenacity kept him in the fight the whole way, although he got definitely outboxed in the later rounds. It was another close and amazing fight but this time, Samir Mohamed would come out as a definitive winner a in the eyes of most.
Kamel Jemel put an end to a career that saw him challenge for the Lumpinee title and face over 40 Thais, including names like Anuwat, Attachai, Somluck Khamsing and Bovy Sor Uderson, in August of last year, at the age of 38, following a left hook KO win over Jaikom Patoon, putting his record to 121-10-1 (98 Kos).
Samir Mohamed would up his record to 116-0 before suffering his first loss in Full Contact to Samir Berbachi in November 2007. He currently sports a 127-2-1 record and has won 17 Full Contact, 5 Kickboxing and 3 Muay Thai world titles.
