(The unquestioned winner of last week’s Silva vs. Stann Fuel card was one bearded, drunken, rodeoman Josh Hall, who vaulted over a few people’s heads and out of the doldrums that is the Winslow (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO) League. Dropping into the Winslow League is our kickboxing guru, Lucas Bourdon. Sorry, mon frère.)
Onto the picks!
Featherweight Semifinal: Magomedrasul Khasbulaev (19-5) vs. Marlon Sandro (24-4)
Luke Irwin: Khasbulaev and his sambo have looked very, very good, but his competition level has been puke. Sandro, despite not looking the monster he was in Sengoku since he came over, is still talented enough to put away guys like Khabulaev, who’s not on his level yet. Sandro by Decision.
Nolan Howell: Sandro looked really bad in his last fight and I am going to go out on a limb and say he is done. Frodo Khasbulaev by unanimous decision.
Featherweight Semifinal: Alexandre Bezerra (15-2) vs. Mike Richman (14-2)
Luke Irwin: Most people don’t understand how big Bezerra submitting Genair da Silva in the first round was. That was really damned impressive. Richman is going to come out swinging early and often and have laid out many a good fighter, but Bezerra catches him. Bezerra by R2 Submission.
Nolan Howell: While “Popo” is a solid pick here, I am loving me some Mike Richman. Some slick standup and I hope he uses that to end Bezerra’s night early. Mike Richman by first round TKO.
Middleweight Semifinal: Doug Marshall (16-6) vs. Sultan Aliev (9-0)
Luke Irwin: I keep picking against Doug Marshall and it keeps biting me in the ass. Dammit, Aliev by UD.
Nolan Howell: Marshall is one tough dude and expect a whole lot of standing and banging from him. Doug Marshall by second round TKO.
Middleweight Semifinal: Brett Cooper (18-7) vs. Dan Cramer (10-3)
Luke Irwin: Brett Cooper is absolutely one of my Top-5 favorite fighters to watch in Bellator. It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be grinding, it’s going to be bloody, and I think Cooper wears Cramer down and finishes it late. If Marshall and Cooper meet in the finals, it’s going to be hellstorm. Cooper R3 TKO.
Nolan Howell: Embrace the grind. Brett Cooper by unanimous decision.
