FIGHT: Mac Danzig vs. Takanori Gomi
DATE: November 10
CARD: UFC on Fuel: Franklin vs. Le
VENUE: CotaiArena
LOCATION: Macao, China
RESULT: Gomi SD
JUDGES’ SCORECARD: 29-28 Danzig, 29-28 Gomi, 29-28 Gomi
MY SCORECARD: 29-28 Gomi
PLAY-BY-PLAY: (via FightGameBlog)
Round 1: Nice back and forth first round. Gomi got a nice takedown, but Danzig just looks a bit stronger and confident with his punches. It’s close, but I’d give it to Danzig.

Round 2: The second round was Danzig’s. He was able to get a takedown and had Gomi in a guillotine, which wasn’t close to finishing Gomi. Gomi is being patient, but needs to pick it up.

Round 3: Gomi landed a nice right that put Danzig on his rear end to start the round. Danzig tried a heel hook from the bottom, but Gomi grabbed his leg and put on what Kenny Florian described as a figure four foot lock. It looked similar to a Bret Hart Sharpshooter, or Edge’s submission move, the Edgecator (I had to look that one up. I’m not that big of a wrestling nerd.). They ended the round on their feet throwing one shot at the time, but neither could put together any combinations.
