Glory Heavyweight Championship: Rico Verhoeven (c) (44-10-1) vs. Errol Zimmerman (79-18-1)
-Zimmerman has really, really impressed me lately. Errol was always a second-tier fighter who’d lose to fighters that would stick it out with him, but he’s 3-1 in his last four in Glory, stopping tough hombres like Hesdy Gerges and Ben Edwards, and more importantly, his performance against Braddock Silva was nothing less than masterful. He showed the combat world a lot that fight with an absolutely dominant performance over someone everyone thought would out-finesse him. That, coupled with the fact that Rico lost his last fight in China, and the time is right for Zimmerman to reach the top of the mountain. But not yet, to me. Their may never be a better time, but Verhoeven still hasn’t shown, even in his loss, that he can fold like a chair against power shots. He still looks composed, his gas tank is still the best in the heavyweight division, and if he can draw a long fight out of Zimmerman, the fight is his. I think he can and does. Verhoeven via UD.
Middleweight Bout: Joe Schilling (17-7) vs. Robert Thomas (7-2)
-Showcase/refresher fight for Schilling, as Good Canadian Boy (tm Don Cherry) Bob Thomas is going to be eating some canvas early. Schilling via R1 KO.
Glory Welterweight Contender Tournament Semifinals: Alexander Stetsurenko (50-9) vs. Nieky Holzken (89-11)
-It’s been over a year since Nieky fought in Glory, thanks to a shoulder injury from a car accident. Since then, Nieky’s been kind of bored. Know what I do when I’m bored? Maybe order a pizza, watched a Chopped marathon, maybe refill my Brita pitcher if I’m feeling REAL adventurous. Know what Niely Holzken does when he’s bored? Become a BoxRec top-100 super middleweight professional boxer, seemingly on a whim. Stetsurenko is a fine fighter who tends to get overmatched, and Nieky is going to do just that and reclaim the belt he never lost. Holzken via R2 TKO.
Glory Welterweight Contender Tournament Semifinals: Jonatan Oliveira (20-3) vs. Raymond Daniels (5-1)
-My buddy and Undercard Superstar kickboxing guru Lucas Bourdon doesn’t much care for the likes of Raymond Daniels, throwing such shade as “YouTube Champion”. The nerve! My delicate sensibilities! Still, I share his sentiments, as Daniels is probably more sizzle than steak, but fights like these will flesh it out. Unlike Bourdon, I think Daniels can do enough here to pull one out, but Nieky absolutely styles on him. Daniels via SD.
Glory Welterweight Tournament Winner: Nieky Holzken
