In one of the more exciting games of the season for the Columbus Hockey Blue Jackets, they were able to pick up a win, 5-2 against the Arizona Coyotes.
Highlights:
Three Stars
Third Star: Sergei Bobrovsky
After a tough start to the season Bobrovsky has been able to rebound with back to back wins against two solid teams. Last night he posted a .966 sv% and tonight he posted a .931sv% which is a lot more in Bobrovsky’s wheel house than the games he had earlier this year. I haven’t even mentioned the fact that he got an assist. The man is a playmaker, people!
Second Star: William “Wild Bill” Karlsson
Karlsson’s goals were a long time coming for a player that has been getting high marks from John Tortorella and Co. Karlsson has been a steady player and one of the few bright spots this season. “Wild Bill” will have to buy Hartnell a dinner at Hyde Park after the pass he received from him – it was an absolute laser that very few players are able to make in this league. Hartnell better not forget the lobster mac and cheese for his troubles, the man deserves it.
First Star: Boone Jenner
In what is shaping up to be a career year for Jenner, he finished the evening with three points and ten penalty minutes, an obscure box score to be sure. He was buzzing around the net all night and is proving just how valuable he is to the team this season. While Foligno and Johansen started slower than usual, Jenner was able to take the scoring reins from them both and may very well be the first star of the season too.
Honorable Mentions: Jack Johnson, Ryan Johansen and Cody Goloubef
Tweet of the Game:
In a game with 68 PIM, this was easily the most hilarious penalty listed and I won't change my mind on that. pic.twitter.com/xgGbor0Und
