PJD is on vacation, STILL. During this time, we’ve decided we’ll take a quick look at potential Minnesota Vikings draft picks for the second or later rounds. With so many needs and so many draft picks to get this team back to a place where we can at least pretend they are respectable, we’ll have plenty of ground to cover. Let us know what you think of each prospect in the comments, and whether or not they’d be a good fit or impact player, and of course if you can think of a funny nickname for them.
Today, we look at Georgia Tech wide receiver, Stephen Hill, who is built like a brick shit house and could easily beat up Greg Camarillo.
From ESPN’s draft analysis, we find out the following useless bits of info from this monster receiver:

Receiver needs for this disaster of a team are well established. We’ve talked a bit about drafting someone like Alshon Jeffery in the 2nd round, who would be a good pick, but may need to look to some later round options as well. That’s where you find someone like Georgia Tech’s Stephen Hill, who isn’t exactly flying under the radar, but probably doesn’t get the attention he deserves having gone to GT, which is a predominantly option running school. For you losers who don’t follow college football, that means he’d be a perfect complement to a Tim Tebow team. There’s lots of things to like about Stephen Hill, in particular how he’d fit in with the Vikings. At 6’4″, he’d be an ideal red zone target for us, which we haven’t had since Squid Rice left the team and the Vikings decided to keep Joe Webb as a quarterback. He’s also a good run blocking wide receiver, which isn’t something you would normally think of in a receiver, but when you’re running your offense through Purple Jesus and have a young quarterback behind center, that’s a nice quality to have. While Hill’s speed isn’t great (his combine 40-time should be out there somewhere, maybe proving me just as smart as ESPN), his size would potentially make up for it on our offense. The Vikings still need someone to stretch the field, so he may not be the guy to do it, but if he can get 15-20 yards down field and jump over cornerbacks to “go deep,” that might be good enough.
Amazingly, Stephen Hill is a black guy. I say amazingly because I can’t think of a white name out there. Maybe Keith Beck? I don’t know.
What say you?
